Get involved – it’s easy

What do 20 young students from Poland, Lithuania have in common? The answer is – the project Get involved it`s easy!

The project turned out to be a true discovery, we attended places and met people which were unknown even to the Polish students! Apart from learning about the already exciting projects we had a chance to think of a project of our own. In the city center of Dabrowa Gornicza, which is the city our University is located, there is an old production plant, which has rooms empty from furniture but full of potential.

All of the above is of particular interest for us, as all of the participants have some experience in the field of social activities, among which: giving lectures to kids, educating the youth, organising events aiming to raise the awareness of local citizens, helping seniors and disabled people.

In the project`s framework the participants met Piotr Drygała – social activist and innovator head of NGO and Civic Activity Department (Town Hall in Dabrowa Gornicza). Piotr kindly answered our questions about participatory budget, gave us a chance to visit the Local Activity Centre and meet with the team for cooperation considering NGO in Dabrowa Gornicza.

Furthermore, other education and integration events took place: visit to Silesian Museum of History, Bowling Tournament, Evening of Traditional Polish cuisine, Blog writing workshops with the participation of experts in the IT field, Integration workshop and Project Team-Building.

We believe that projects like “Get involved it`s easy!“ founded by the Polish-Lithuanian Youth Exchange Fund are essential for improving the quality of life not only in the region, but also in global politics. Everybody matters.
